Upholstered furniture mechanisms
“JUODASIS ALKSNIS” (BLACK ALDER) uses high-quality Belgian-made bedroom mechanisms in the production of the furniture intended for sleeping and recliners, which are characterized by strength and functionality for sitting comfort.
Sleeping mechanisms
The sofas of various models manufactured by “JUODASIS ALKSNIS” (BLACK ALDER) can also be used as comfortable beds using the folding Belgian sleeping mechanism.

“Meratoile 6M” is a triple folding mechanism consisting of a metal frame, glued timber crossbars, a polypropylene base (tent), and a compressed foam mattress. These mechanisms are also installed in all other models of sofas, where such a mechanism can be installed.

Alerts:
- do not allow children to play with the mechanisms;
- do not use solvents to clean the metal parts of the machine – a damp cloth will suffice;
- if the mechanism squeaks, lubricate the moving parts with oil;
- do not stand or sit in front of the bed-head or foot of the sofa bed mechanism;
- uncover the bedding to fold the mechanism.

Recliner
This is the mechanism for the footrest to be unfolded. With one light hand movement, Pasirinktiing the desired position, the back of the furniture is folded to the reclining position. The company uses two types of recliners in the production of furniture: a mechanism that allows the furniture to unfold, rotate around its axis, Pasirinkti a swinging position, and a recliner designed only to unfold the furniture.
Usage:
- pulling the lever automatically folds the footrest on the outside of the armchair;
- when you recline stronger, the back of the armchair reclines to the lying position;
- the furniture is returned to its original position by leaning forward and pressing the footrest down with your feet.

Maintenance and cleaning of tapestry upholstery
Tapestries come in a variety of fibers and textures, so they require different care and cleaning. However, general requirements for the maintenance and cleaning of all tapestry coverings can be distinguished:
- vacuum and ventilate them regularly, use a vacuum cleaner or a brush;
- protect the fabric from mechanical damage, try not to smear with chemicals and other liquids;
- do not store upholstered furniture in the direct sunlight and near heat sources, as this will damage the fabric and accelerate its fading;
- clean each stain immediately before it is too absorbed;
- test the cleaner in an invisible area of the upholstery. If the color of the fabric does not change, you can use the cleaner;
- clean stains with gentle circular motions;
- dry the cleaned area (do not iron);
- light color furniture looks beautiful, but the stains on it are more visible. Specialists recommend the use of dry cleaning agents, such as spray or powder. Apply the cleaning agent to the fabric evenly and wait for some time for the effect to be sufficient. Then suck.

Leather upholstery
Leather is a luxurious and practical material. Genuine leather is nice to the touch – it’s warm.
Leather structure
It depends on the genetics of the animal, its living conditions, and diet. The skin of each animal has a unique texture and different natural properties such as scarring. Wrinkles, scars from injuries, marks of insect stings, pigmented spots (darker areas), and venous structures are proof of the animal’s natural skin authenticity. In order to reveal the full beauty of natural leather, it is treated according to the natural properties of the skin.
Care and cleaning of leather upholstery
Leather is a natural material, so leather upholstery needs to be properly cared for and cleaned so that it doesn’t wear out for a long time and looks like you just bought it:
- once a week the furniture should be cleaned with a damp, soft cloth;
- leather furniture must be cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner using a special nozzle for upholstered furniture;
- it is advisable to clean the stains immediately, using paper towels or an uncolored cloth to absorb moisture; do not rub hard;
- do not use a hair dryer to dry leather, do not place the furniture near heat sources, protect the leather from direct sunlight;

Leather scarring
Injuries to the skin of animals, such as cuts caused by keeping animals in enclosures or pastures, can be found as scars in the same way as on the human skin. These scars do not adversely affect the quality of the leather, on the contrary, these marks give the surface of the leather an original look.
Different leather structures
CowSlėpti is most commonly used in the manufacture of furniture. Approximately six Pasirinktied animal skins are required to make one set of furniture. Each part of the animal’s body has a different skin structure, such as wrinkles on the neck and sides, so the leather texture of one set of furniture will not be completely even, and customers should not make claims because of that. Such distinctive details give the furniture exclusivity.
Other features
Well-healed burns, bites, or injuries from farm tools make the leather texture even more interesting and distinctive.
We use the highest quality (categories K-1000, K-2000, K-3000) Italian leather, certified by the ISO 9002 quality certificate. The advantages of such leather are elasticity and non-fading color.
The soft part
“JUODASIS ALKSNIS” (BLACK ALDER) uses elastic foam polyurethane instead of foam rubber. Polyurethane is a set of interconnected elastic walls of various thicknesses and cavities of various sizes. It surpasses the properties of foam rubber and meets the characteristics of latex with its technical properties, resistance, elasticity, and durability. The seat with elastic polyurethane foam does not settle, the weight of the person is evenly distributed, the frame or springs of the furniture cannot be felt. The backrests and armrests, depending on the furniture model, are made of siliconized polyester tuft fiber, which does not surpass by its properties and gives an even greater degree of softness. The density of materials used in the manufacture of furniture is not less than 35 kg / m3, the specified thickness is the maximum.
All this, together with the installed zigzag springs, serves for one common purpose – to give the “JUODASIS ALKSNIS” (BLACK ALDER) furniture as much comfort as possible.
Alerts
- after unpacking the purchased furniture, adjust their shapes by hand to remove any extra folds or dents that may have occurred during transportation, and the furniture will regain its natural appearance;
- the armrests of new furniture may have different degrees of hardness, but after a few days of use, these differences will disappear;
- when using the furniture, light folds may form in the seated part, which is completely normal.

Construction
Internal construction
The durability and longevity of the furniture is guaranteed by the frame. “JUODASIS ALKSNIS” (BLACK ALDER) furniture frame is extremely reliable, made of Pasirinktied and well-dried wood, usually oak or beech wood, which has a special hardness and strength, additionally treated with special antifungal agents. The non-deformable plywood is used in the weight-bearing parts of the frame, which require special resistance and holds the fittings perfectly. Parts of a wooden structure are fastened in a very popular way: with staples or wood screws.
Legs
Special attention is paid to the legs of the furniture, because they not only hold the weight, but also become one of the design elements. Depending on the style and type of furniture, different legs are used: from modern aluminum, chrome-plated to classic, or hand-carved.
